Privacy policy

This policy explains how JLV DESIGN LTD (“JLV Design”, “we”, “us”) uses your personal data when you visit this website or get in touch. We are the data controller. What we collect

• Enquiries and bookings: your name, email, phone number (optional), postcode (optional), preferred appointment details and anything you write in your message.
• Client projects: if you become a client, information about your home needed to deliver the work (address, measurements, photographs, preferences and invoices).
• Website use: our host keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.

Why we use it (lawful basis)

• To reply to your enquiry and arrange appointments — steps at your request before entering a contract and our legitimate interests.
• To deliver design services and invoice you — performance of a contract and legal obligation (accounting records).
• To send occasional design tips or offers — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who we share it with

We never sell your data. We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:

• Website hosting — TODO(owner): Netlify / Vercel / other.
• Email delivery for form confirmations — Resend (or the form service you configure).
• Online booking — Cal.com, if you book through the calendar.
• Our accountants, and — with your agreement — the suppliers and trades working on your project.

Some providers are based outside the UK; where they are, transfers are protected by UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

If you choose to load the Google Map or message us on WhatsApp, Google or WhatsApp (Meta) will process your data under their own privacy policies.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don’t lead to a project: up to 24 months. Client records: 6 years after the project ends (HMRC requirements). TODO(owner): confirm retention periods.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or move your data, or object to how we use it. Email contact@jlv-design.co.uk. If you’re unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
